Dejan Kulusevski has suggested that Pape Matar Sarr is capable of magical things after the midfielder produced an ‘unbelievable’ cross for James Maddison in Tottenham Hotspur’s weekend win.

Tottenham’s attack was absolutely lethal against Aston Villa on Sunday in a battle involving two of the sides battling for the top-four in the Premier League.

James Maddison, Brennan Johnson, Heung-min Son and Timo Werner all scored for Ange Postecoglou’s side during the second-half. Meanwhile, there were three different players who provided assists for the four goals.

Pape Matar Sarr was the first of those to create a crucial opportunity for a teammate, with his sensational cross finding Maddison on the edge of the six-yard box.

Sarr is not necessarily known for his chance creation. Sunday saw only his fourth assist in a Tottenham shirt. But James Maddison labelled Sarr’s cross ‘unbelievable’.

And speaking on The Debrief on Tottenham’s YouTube channel, Dejan Kulusevski suggested that he was not surprised to see Sarr produce that kind of brilliance from his locker at Villa Park.

“Pape has those things, he has the magical things. And it was an unbelievable cross, and he’s a very good player. So it was really good from him,” he said.

Spurs have the potential to blow most teams away

Sunday’s performance just showed that Tottenham can blow teams away, and the goals can largely come from absolutely anywhere. Kulusevski was not able to find the back of the net, but most of the attack was able to score against the Villans.

The game actually marked the first time since August that Tottenham have kept a clean sheet against a side currently sat in the top-half of the Premier League table.

So that says everything about how good they have been going forward, as they now appear to be on pole position to finish in the top-four and secure their return to the Champions League.
