'Madness': Some Arsenal fans blown away by incredible William Saliba stat
Most Arsenal fans are still not happy about the fact that William Saliba was sent out on loan without being given a chance at the Emirates.
The Frenchman, signed by Unai Emery in 2019, was widely regarded as one of the best young defenders in the world. Most Arsenal fans were convinced that he’d play a big part, but Mikel Arteta decided otherwise.
The Arsenal boss didn’t give him a single opportunity last season. He was pushed out of the club at the start of this year to Nice, where he was brilliant. Just when supporters thought he’d get a chance in the summer, he was loaned out again, this time to Marseille.
Saliba has impressed everyone with his performances in France so far.
Saliba has kept 15 clean sheets already this season
The Frenchman has made a few mistakes in the Europa League this campaign. That made a few Arsenal fans believe that sending him out on loan was the right thing to do, but his clean sheets record for club and country is absolutely incredible.

Saliba has helped Marseille keep two clean sheets in the Europa League and 10 in Ligue 1. The France under-21 side haven’t conceded a single goal in the five games that he’s played in, which is a truly stunning record.
Arsenal fans react
The 15 clean sheets Marseille and the France under-21 side have kept this season is not fully down to Saliba, his teammates deserve credit too. However, the Arsenal man has certainly played his part.
Irrespective of what Arsenal supporters think of Arteta’s decision to loan him out, his spell at Marseille will really help him out. He will come back to North London a much better player, but nobody knows if he’ll be given an opportunity.
Arsenal fans have had their say about his remarkable stat. Here’s how a few of them reacted on Twitter…
