Leeds United fans will feel more comfortable about axing Madger Gomes this summer after hearing of his struggles.
The former Leeds midfielder is yet to get going in France despite featuring regularly for Sochaux at the start of the season.
Gomes arrived at Leeds in summer 2017 with a high reputation. He had previously been with Villarreal and Liverpool.
The young midfielder penned a three-year contract at Elland Road but left just one year later to move to France.
Gomes had managed just two senior appearances for Leeds and needed a new environment to kick on.
Ligue 2 side Sochaux offered Gomes a route out of Leeds and he took it.
And so far he has played eight matches, with his side sitting in 12th place in the second tier of French football.

But just as the former Spain youth international was starting to get a run of games, a moment of madness might have cost him his place in the team.
In a game at home against FC Metz, Gomes provided the cross which was deflected in for an own goal to level the scores.
But with 12 minutes to go, Sochaux went behind again and then Gomes lost his head.
A reckless challenge forced the referee to give the 21-year-old a straight red card and now he is serving a three-game suspension.
With Mateusz Klich and Kalvin Phillips in fine form, Leeds fans will not be concerned about getting rid of Gomes.
