'Made my day': Some Arsenal fans think they've spotted exciting clue about Saliba's future

Some Arsenal fans have rejoiced at a photo shared by Jeorge Bird which they feel could hold a clue about William Saliba’s future.

The 20-year-old joined the Gunners from Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2019 for £27million.

Arsenal loaned Saliba back to Saint-Etienne for the remainder of the season, and went on to reach the French Cup final.

He then arrived at the Emirates Stadium last summer to much fanfare, and it was hoped that he’d stake a claim for a first-team place.

On Wednesday, Jeorge Bird shared an image of three shirts in the first-team dressing room at an Emirates Stadium tour.

While the focus of his post was on Folarin Balogun – “essentially confirmation that he’s been promoted” – quite a few fans were more pleased to see the shirt on the left.

Supporters speculated that the inclusion of Saliba’s shirt in the dressing room means he’s in Arteta’s plans.
