‘Made a big difference’ – Tottenham Hotspur fans react as Toby Alderweireld makes return against Everton

Tottenham Hotspur managed to labour to a crucial 1-0 win against Everton tonight to get back to winning ways and fans were loving the performance of the returning Toby Alderweireld.

The Belgian was recalled by Jose Mourinho at the expensive of Davinson Sanchez and made a big impact in the back four for the north Londoners.

It was an easy enough night for the experienced Spurs man as Everton struggled to create. But Alderweireld can take credit as being a key part of that, keeping Dom Calvert-Lewin pretty quiet all night.

The Belgian’s attacking threat was felt, too, as he delivered a number of impressive diagonal balls from the back which have become his trademark over the last few years.

It was good to see the 31-year-old back and playing well. Indeed, Spurs fans seemed to think he made a difference too.
