Maddison and Sancho laud Reiss Nelson on Instagram after Arsenal win
James Maddison and Jadon Sancho were amongst those to take to Instagram to laud Reiss Nelson in reaction to his stunning performance for Arsenal in their emphatic win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
The Gunners got back to winning ways after a slight blip. And Mikel Arteta’s men did it in some style. They put five past Steve Cooper’s side at the Emirates.
However, not everything went Arsenal’s way. Bukayo Saka came off during the first-half with an injury in what could prove to be a big blow for the Gunners.
That did however, present a massive opportunity to Nelson who had been awaiting his first Premier League appearance of the season.
But he absolutely took his opportunity with both hands. The 22-year-old scored two and set up another to remind everyone why Mikel Arteta believes he is a ‘special‘ talent.

Certainly, many of his peers were hugely impressed. Nelson took to Instagram following the win. And there were a raft of messages congratulating him on his display.

Arsenal fans will hope that the performance proves to be the real turning point for Nelson at the Emirates. There had probably previously been concerns that the opportunity to make the grade at Arsenal had passed him by.
A loan spell at Feyenoord last season seemed to help Nelson regain some confidence. But Sunday’s performance could be a game-changer.
Obviously, Arsenal fans will hope that Saka is back as soon as possible. But Nelson could have a golden chance if the England international needs some time out of the side.
