Celtic captain Scott Brown has been praised by Mikael Lustig, who believes the Hoops ace “keeps getting better” (Celtic View).

The 34-year-old has been at Celtic since 2007, when he joined from Hibernian, and in that time, the midfielder has been simply sensational for the Parkhead side.

Brown has made 566 competitive Celtic appearances to date, scoring 45 goals and claiming 60 assists, and has lifted nine Scottish Premiership titles, five Scottish Cups and seven League Cups.

He has been Celtic’s captain since February 2010, and has also made more European appearances for the Bhoys than any other player.

Despite his advancing years, Brown – who turns 35 in June – is showing no signs of slowing down, and his former teammate paid tribute to him.

“Scott’s a machine and he just keeps getting better,” Lustig told the Celtic View.

“The thing with Broony is, if you see him in training every day, he’s always up there in every test, and he’s so fit.

“And he’s pushing 35 this year, but hopefully he can be there for another one or two years and be able to lift that 10-in-a-row!”

TBR View:

Brown has been nothing short of sensational for Celtic, and it’s no surprise to see plaudits heading his way from his peers.

He has been a crucial, indispensable member of a Celtic team that has cleaned up in terms of glory in Scotland these past 10 years, and the fact he is showing no signs of slowing down is great for the Hoops – and bad for their city rivals.
