Celtic may face a battle to keep hold of Odsonne Edouard this winter, especially if they a former Celtic striker is also on the move.
The reports suggest that Lyon have no desire to sell Dembele in the winter, but there is a growing belief he will eventually be leaving the Ligue 1 side.
It is claimed that Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas would want to sell Dembele, who has been linked with Manchester United, for a fee in the region of €60 million (£51.4m).
Celtic, as reported by the Daily Mail, are believed to value Edouard in the region of £30 million, which would not be a problem for Lyon should they get their asking price for Dembele.
Edouard has been in fine form for Celtic and the French under-21s this season. In all games for club and country, the 21-year-old has scored 20 goals in 28 appearances so far this term.
That form has undoubtedly got Lyon thinking he could have a similar impact in France as Dembele has. The former Celtic striker has scored 29 goals in 62 games for Les Gones.
Celtic fans will just be hoping the club manages to keep hold of Edouard until, at least, the end of the season.
