Luke Ayling, Stuart Dallas and PL captain respond to Leeds star’s Instagram post
Patrick Bamford celebrated the Thursday news that he’s signed a new Leeds United contract with an Instagram post, which has prompted responses from past and present teammates of his.
Bamford committed his long-term future at Elland Road yesterday by penning a five-year deal that keeps him at the Yorkshire club until 2026.
The 27-year-old striker has developed into one of the key players in Marcelo Bielsa’s XI, so it’s great news for the club.
He had doubters going into last season during Leeds’ return to the top flight. However, he made a mockery of that. The English forward ended up with 17 goals and eight assists in the Premier League during the previous campaign, so would surely love to replicate that kind of form this year.
Bamford’s Instagram post received replies from current teammates such as Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas. Also, Premier League captain Jamaal Lascelles responded. The Newcastle United defender previously played alongside Bamford at Nottingham Forest.
Bamford contract signals crucial next step in Leeds career
After overcoming the hurdle that he can perform in the Premier League, Bamford now needs to take the next step.
The striker’s task is to prove he can score regularly season after season. Leeds have shown major confidence in him with a new contract.
He’s got the all-round game to lead the Whites forward line for the upcoming years.
