Luke Ayling comments on Newcastle man ahead of Magpies’ Leeds trip

Luke Ayling has told Leeds United’s official website that Steve Bruce has done brilliantly during his time at Newcastle United ahead of the two sides’ clash on Wednesday.

The Whites host the Magpies at Elland Road. And they will be hoping to get back to winning ways after a disappointing display against West Ham last week.

However, it does not look set to be an easy game for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. Newcastle have won their last two, and they sit two places clear of Leeds with a game in hand.

Bruce has certainly silenced a number of his critics and doubters. And ahead of the clash, Ayling was full of praise for the Newcastle boss.

“Steve Bruce has done brilliantly there, he’s got a team playing how he wants to play,” he told the club’s official website.

“We know it will be a very tricky game, very similar to the game we played against West Ham.

“I think it will be the same kind of way that they played, so we know we’ve got to do better, try and put our game out there and try to get the three points.”

Leeds have not suffered three defeats on the spin since sealing promotion. And they need a positive result on Wednesday to ensure that that run keeps going.

It seems too soon to suggest that Leeds are in any sort of trouble. They are currently six points clear of the relegation zone.

But a home game against Newcastle looks, on paper, to provide a very good opportunity for Bielsa’s men to get something.

And judging by Ayling’s comments, they have absolutely no intention of taking Bruce’s side lightly.
