The transfer situation with Luis Suarez has been somewhat confusing.
The Clash hit ‘should I stay or should go I now’ comes to mind when considering whether he should leave Liverpool or stay. Here’s the verdict on where he might be come September.
Liverpool
Liverpool seem to be desperate to keep their star Uruguayan, Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Suarez is firmly in his plans for the new season: “Luis is a very important member of this squad and I am looking forward to working with him again this season after he had such a fantastic season.”
To be cliche, Liverpool are in for their biggest season yet. With a set of quality signings in Iago Aspas, Kolo Toure & Simon Mignolet. With Luis Suarez set to be the centre-piece of Liverpool’s future, he would be foolish to leave.
Arsenal
Reports on Saturday suggested that Luis Suarez was ready to tell Liverpool he wanted to join Arsenal.
It seems unlikely that he will end up at the North London club, Arsenal have already had two bids of 30m+ turned down. Arsene Wenger’s eagerness to pursue his man does not seem that it will extend past 50m. Arsenal could be disappointed with reports suggesting that Real Madrid will offer Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain for Luis Suarez. Giving them a wicked double whammy.
Real Madrid
Reports that Luis Suarez will go to his dream destination were shunned after Real revealed that they would be only willing to pay 25m.
However, reports now suggest that Higuain will be offered as bait to tempt Liverpool into selling Suarez.
Real have struggled with their striking situation for some years now, Luis Suarez would certainly tackle that problem. A dynamic forward, he would certainly suit Real Madrid’s system.
