Luis Sinisterra has taken to Instagram to laud Mateo Joseph in reaction to the Leeds United starlet’s performance for the under-21s on Friday night.

Joseph is one of the young players knocking hardest on Jesse Marsch’s door right now. The 18-year-old has made an electric start to the season in Premier League 2.

He went into Friday’s clash with Stoke City having scored five goals in five games. And he picked up where he left off before the international break.

Leeds won 4-0 against the Potters in York. And Joseph was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick. Sonny Perkins – unsurprisingly – was the other goalscorer for the home side.

Joseph took a little while to get going following his January move to Elland Road. But it does appear that he is now thriving. Certainly, Leeds fans will be dreaming of the partnership he may one day form with Perkins in the first-team.

Joseph took to Instagram following the game. And amongst those to reply was Sinisterra, with the Colombia star clearly impressed with the striker…

Sinisterra is arguably the player Leeds supporters are most excited about. He has already scored twice for Jesse March’s side after taking a more peripheral role since his injury.

And he shone on international duty, scoring three times for his country.

So for the winger to laud Joseph says a lot about the teenager’s potential, as well as the team spirit that permeates throughout the squad.

Joseph faces a huge task trying to break into the senior squad anytime soon. Leeds look set to start this spell of the season with Rodrigo, Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt all available.

But Whites fans know full well how injuries can decimate a squad as the campaign goes on. So Joseph just needs to keep scoring for the under-21s.

His time will come should his form continue.
