Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is wanted by AC Milan this summer, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web.
They report that the San Siro club want to bring the combative Uruguayan international in to boost their midfield ranks after he enjoyed a successful first season at the Gunners.
But it would see the midfielder make an instant return to Italy after he joined from Sampdoria last summer, and he has been asked how life in England compares.
Speaking to Uruguyan outlet Ovacion about life in England, Torreira said: “I don’t know if there are many things that I enjoy. I think it was better in Italy. The language stopped me. It is very difficult when you can’t have dialogue.
“So is the climate. You go out in the morning – it’s cloudy. You arrive late to your home and it’s cloudy. I had to get used to playing every three days, which is very hard.”
In truth, Torreira’s words are a classic interview that a player gives on international duty – he’s currently preparing for the Copa America with Uruguay.
It might perhaps be concerning that Torreira appears to prefer life in Italy, but that doesn’t mean he’s itching to make an instant return.
But Unai Emery must do all he can to make sure the midfielder is settled because he was one of the brightest sparks of last season – losing him would be a blow.
