Lucas Torreira reacts on Instagram after securing Arsenal loan exit; Mesut Ozil replies

Lucas Torreira has taken to Instagram to express his delight after sealing a loan move to Atletico Madrid, with Arsenal teammate Mesut Ozil amongst those to reply to the midfielder.

It will come as a relief to many that Torreira managed to seal a move before the window shut. The Uruguay international had become a peripheral figure under Mikel Arteta, and he had not made a single appearance for the Gunners this season.

And with Arsenal signing Thomas Partey on Monday, a loan move to Atletico looked to make perfect sense for all parties.

Torreira took to social media to suggest that he was incredibly proud to join the La Liga side. He also informed the fans that he would see them soon.

Of course, the majority of replies came from excited Atleti fans. But there was also a response from a couple of men who know the 24-year-old extremely well.

Along with Emi Martinez, Ozil also sent a message to Torreira. The German – who is also awaiting his first appearance of the campaign – urged the midfielder to enjoy his time in Spain…

TBR View: Arsenal will want Torreira to succeed

In the long run, a loan move could work out quite nicely for Arsenal. Should he impress for Diego Simeone’s side, the Gunners should have little problem attracting a permanent buyer for the midfielder.

Torreira now has a point to prove. And Arsenal will certainly benefit if he proves it.
