Lucas Radebe had a remarkable career at Leeds United.
From joining the club to a relative unknown to a Champions League semi-final all the way back down to the Championship, Radebe saw it all at Elland Road.
As well as seeing a number of ups and downs, Radebe also saw his fair share of managers in west Yorkshire too.
The Chief worked under no fewer than six permanent managers at Leeds, as well as a few interim bosses, and now, speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, Radebe has named the best gaffer he ever had at Leeds.

The best manager Lucas Radebe had at Leeds
Radebe spoke about the best coach he worked with.
“That was George Graham, Do you know what? He’s the best manager I have ever worked under. You guys had a great team, and he came with that reputation to Leeds, very strict manager, and with the results a lot of people were thinking it would be another boring Leeds United 1-0 win,” Radebe said.
George Graham could’ve taken Leeds to the top
George Graham is often forgotten in the pantheon of great football managers in this country, but make no mistake about it, he was an incredible coach.
His Arsenal team was almost impossible to beat, and he was well on his way to making Leeds a similar sort of force.
However, due to the fact he wanted to move back to London, Graham cut his time at Elland Road short, leaving for Tottenham in 1998, but perhaps if he’d stayed on and received the same level of investment David O’Leary did in the coming years, he could’ve taken Leeds to the top.
Graham’s spell at Leeds is one of the great footballing ‘what ifs’, and as Radebe says, he may well have been the best manager Leeds had during this era.
