Lucas Radebe has delivered a battle cry to Leeds United ahead of the club’s four remaining league games with promotion to the Premier League a real possibility.

Leeds currently sit in second place with four league games to play. They are four points behind leaders Norwich City and three ahead of Sheffield United, after their 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side take on Wigan Athletic at Elland Road on Friday afternoon, while the Blades play host to Martin O’Neill’s Nottingham Forest. Norwich take on Sheffield Wednesday at Carrow Road.

Leeds United legend Radebe, nicknamed ‘The Chief’, took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon to rally the Leeds troops and stated that the next two matches are crucially important in their quest for promotion.

TBR’s view

Leeds are in an excellent position. It is in their hands. If they win their remaining four matches, they are promoted, it is as simple as that.

The Whites face Brentford at Griffin Park following Friday afternoon’s clash, before taking on in-form Aston Villa at Elland Road and already-relegated Ipswich Town on the final day of the season.

Radebe’s comment shows just how much the Yorkshire club still means to the former centre-back. His words will surely inspire the Whites, who could go six points clear in second with a win.
