Leeds United legend Lucas Radebe has been discussing the upcoming return to Championship action for the West Yorkshire side, and of his belief that this current crop of Leeds players deserves to play Premier League football.

Leeds have recently returned to training ahead of the Championship restart later this month, with the Whites hoping to finish the job and earn promotion to the Premier League.

Radebe, who spent 11 years at Elland Road, has been speaking to the club’s official website about their hopes for the new season and the South African is fully of the belief that Leeds will win promotion back to the top-flight.

In fact, he stated he has not seen such football in a long time, calling it ‘amazing’ and believes the current Leeds team belongs in the Premier League.

“I appreciate how hard they work and how they take it upon themselves to reach the levels they are at and that is commitment.

“These players have the same vision and I believe that having watched them, the Premier League is where they belong.  I haven’t seen such great football in such a long time, it’s amazing watching on TV and it gives me goosebumps.”

There is no donut that, along with West Brom, Leeds United have been the best team in the Championship this season. In fact, over the past two seasons, the Whites have been sensational and were extremely unfortunate not to secure promotion last term.

Should they win the fight to go up, Radebe seems to believe the current squad might have what it takes to thrive in England’s premier competition.

Marcelo Bielsa will no doubt back his players in the same way and, hopefully, in 2020-21 Leeds fans will find out.
