Lucas Moura has thanked Jose Mourinho in an Instagram post after the latter was sacked as Tottenham manager on Monday.
Spurs announced yesterday that Mourinho, along with his coaching staff, has been relieved of their duties at the north London club.
The timing of the news is what shocked most people, as they face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final this Sunday. Ryan Mason is scheduled to take charge of the Spurs team for Wednesday’s Premier League match against Southampton.
Moura, 28, has been one of the regular starters this season for Spurs.
The Brazilian attacker’s work rate off the ball made him a real favourite under Mourinho, plus he’s scored nine goals and set up eight assists so far this campaign in all competitions.
He uploaded a message on Instagram to Mourinho following his departure:

TBR’s View:
It’s clear that not all the Spurs players seriously bought into Mourinho’s ideas during his 17 months in charge.
However, Moura, along with the likes of Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, were a great fit for Mourinho.
The Portuguese manager just didn’t have the group of players he needed to really be successful with his style of play, and it’s obvious that there is still a real weakness in the club’s defence.
If you look back to the teams he’s been successful with in the past, this current Spurs one looks a miles off it.
