Lucas Moura says Tottenham have a 'good guy' in their ranks who has a 'great future'
Tottenham have started to kick into gear under the guidance of Antonio Conte and two of his South American players, Lucas Moura and Emerson Royal, are becoming integral to his methods.
The Brazilian pair have been in fine form of late and struck up an understanding on the right. It’s helped Spurs to an upturn in form, with European football now very much in sight for Conte’s men.
Lucas, who scored once and set two up against Crystal Palace a week ago, is proving to be a key player alongside Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son at the top of the pitch. But the Brazilian has also been full of praise for his fellow countryman, Emerson Royal.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Moura insisted that the summer signing will be a star for Tottenham in the future.
“I think we are building a good friendship. He is a very good guy, young player. He is doing very well and he has a great future. It’s good to have a Brazilian in my side because we understand each other,” Lucas said of his teammate.
Tottenham take on Watford today looking to continue their fine run of form. Harry Kane is back among the goals and will be hoping he can continue that run at Vicarage Road.
TBR’s View: Emerson Royal Looking The Real Deal At Spurs
After looking shaky at first, Emerson is growing into his role at Tottenham. He looks defensively sound and going forward, he offers a good threat.
He has the right energy levels to play in a Conte team, while the understanding with Lucas is proving a bonus as well for Spurs.
This is looking like a smart piece of business by Tottenham. It perhaps went under the radar a bit in the summer. But now, Emerson is showing just why Fabio Paratici brought him in.
