Tottenham have enjoyed their pre-season trip to South Korea this summer, with Heung-Min Son the clear star of the show for the club.

Son is worshipped in his homeland and delivered the goods on the field in the friendlies, notching a number of goals to send the locals home happy at what their hero had achieved. Son, of course, won the Golden Boot in the Premier League last season as he enjoyed his best ever season in a Spurs shirt.

However, while most of us would assume that Harry Kane is the second in terms of popularity when it comes to those fans in South Korea, The Athletic reports that it could actually be someone else. Step forward, Lucas Moura.

The Athletic claims that Lucas enjoys huge popularity in South Korea thanks, in part, to the fact that he laid on the Golden Boot winning goal for Sonny on the last day of the season at Norwich. It’s reported that some fans in S.Korea simply support Son, and that any one helping out their hero is a elevated instantly.

Of course, Kane will enjoy a high level of admiration. After all, he does provide assist after assist for Son. But for now, it appears Lucas Moura is fresh in the memory bank of those Korean Tottenham fans.

The Athletic’s report goes into more details on this matter but Tottenham have dropped on here. They have the best South Korean player of all time attracting a whole host of eyes to their club.

For the future of Spurs, that is massive. Even when Son leaves, there will be South Korean fans who naturally look out for Tottenham and what they’re up to. Financially, the rewards are massive for the club.

For Lucas Moura, of course, that added bit of popularity is a nice little touch for him.
