‘Incredible’: Lucas Moura says his 25-year-old Tottenham teammate is so ‘special’

Tottenham star Lucas Moura has heaped praise on Richarlison after his World Cup exploits. The striker has scored three goals at the tournament so far, with his goal against Serbia a contender for Goal of the Tournament.

The 25-year-old has been like a different player for his country. His £60 million move to Spurs hasn’t got off to the best of starts and he’s yet to score in the Premier League for his new club.

Moura has also endured a difficult season in North London. He’s played just 93 minutes in the Premier League and that level of playing time saw him miss out on the World Cup squad for Brazil.

Richarlison is flying the flag with Brazil in Qatar. They thrashed South Korea 4-1 in their last-16 clash and now face Croatia looking to secure a place in the last four of the competition.

Now, with Brazil looking like a good bet to win the World Cup, Moura has been quizzed on Richarlison. He’s delighted for his teammate and thought his goal against Serbia was magnificent.

Lucas told the club’s official website: “That goal was incredible. There are a few things to analyse. One, it’s an unbelievable goal. Two, it’s at the World Cup. Three, he’s wearing the Brazil shirt, following players like Ronaldo, Romario, amazing players who have worn that shirt.

“It’s a special moment for him, and we’re all so happy for him because he’s such a special guy.”

The team spirit appears to be good at Tottenham, even if some of the results haven’t been great. Clearly, Richarlison and Moura are good friends even if they’re essentially competing for the same place in the team.

The Spurs man has been brilliant at the World Cup. He looks like a different player under Tite and the challenge for Antonio Conte is to get a similar performance level out of him at Tottenham.

There is something about Richarlison and playing for Brazil. In 41 appearances for his country, he’s found the net 20 times and he always gives his all when called upon by the national team.

Richarlison should arrive back to Tottenham full of confidence. With that in mind, he should get the chance to star in Conte’s team wen he returns and he could prove an exciting signing for Tottenham.
