Lucas Digne has taken to Twitter to send out a defiant message that Everton remain united after their disappointing defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend.
Marco Silva’s men missed the chance to go third in the Premier League table. They had gone into the final 25 minutes at the Vitality Stadium level at 1-1.
But Ryan Fraser put the Cherries back in front with a free-kick. And Callum Wilson made the points safe with his second of the game five minutes later.
Everton conceded two goals from set-pieces. The first saw Wilson nod the ball home after Joshua King had already been able to get on the end of a corner.
Meanwhile, the second saw Fraser find the bottom corner from an acute angle, with the visitors unable to cut the ball out on the way through.
The final goal came about when Everton’s defence seemed to switch off, allowing Wilson to run through and drive the ball past Jordan Pickford.
It was a real blow for the Toffees, who have now won two of their opening five league games. They remain in the bottom-half having also lost twice.
But Digne hinted on social media that Silva’s men are determined to bounce back. The full-back posted a two-word message on Twitter along with a photo of some of the Everton players.
Here is what Digne posted in the wake of the defeat…
