Antonio Conte was thrilled with the performance of Heung-min Son as Tottenham ran out 4-0 winners over Crystal Palace last night.
Son finally got back on the scoresheet as Spurs ran riot in the second half, rounding off the win after a brace by Harry Kane and a Matt Doherty goal.
Son has been out of sorts this season, and last night was only the second 2022/23 Premier League game he has scored in.
After the game, Conte spoke about Son’s importance, having said before the match that the winger knows he hasn’t been at his best this term.

Conte spotted embracing Son after Palace thrashing
He told Spurs Play: “We are talking about a sensitive player. A player that maybe suffers a bit when he is not going to score many goals like this season.
“But these periods are really good to become stronger and there are character aspects. He knows very well he’s an important player for us and we count on him every game.
“To score in this game was really important, for us and him, and now we try to continue.”
The reporter interviewing Conte said of what the Italian did with Son at full-time: “At the end of the game you went over to him and gave him a bit of a cuddle, and it was a lovely moment.”
Last night should do Son’s confidence the world of good and Spurs will hope that he can go on a run of scoring form on the back of it.
Taking off the mask and throwing it to the ground indicates that it may well have been driving him mad as he recovers from the facial injury which threatened his involvement in the World Cup.
Hopefully he will not have to wear it for much longer, although he may well get a rest in the FA Cup at the weekend against Portsmouth anyway.
