'Love this boy': Gabriel Martinelli praises one Newcastle player
Of course, the next time Bruno and Martinelli take to the field, they will do so as teammates. The pair were both named in Brazil’s squad for this winter’s World Cup.
There are a number of Premier League players in Tite’s squad. But few have been in better form than both Martinelli and Bruno.
Martinelli praises Bruno Guimaraes
Obviously, Martinelli has played a key role in guiding Arsenal to the top of the Premier League table. But it has also been an amazing start to the campaign for Bruno and Newcastle.
The Magpies are flying right now. And Bruno has often been the star of the show.
In fact, Martinelli believes that few players in the world have been better in the middle of the park than the 24-year-old.
“I love this boy,” he told Sky Sports. “He’s so good on the ball, so important for the team. He was with me in the Olympic Games, as well. For me, he’s one of the best midfielders in the world. He’s a very good guy, as well.”
Obviously, it is hard to be too critical of what Arsenal have done over the last 12 months. They have flown up the table. And they must now be considered genuine title contenders.
But perhaps some at the Emirates will be wondering how much they will rue not signing Bruno. The player confirmed that the Gunners wanted him before his move to St James’ Park in January (via Sky Sports).
Of course, Arsenal’s midfield has been outstanding this season. But Bruno is one of the players who has elevated Newcastle. And plenty of fans probably feel that he would have been a brilliant signing for Arsenal.
Certainly, he is going to be one name to watch at the World Cup in the coming weeks.
