Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on social media to reports by the Daily Mail, which claimed Spurs are in talks with London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea over holding a pre-season tournament.
The plans are being drawn up as an alternative to their traditional summer tours of places like Asia and the United States, and would see most of the income raised go to charity.
Covid-19 restrictions have forced clubs to look closer to home for their friendlies with many already booking domestic fixtures, but a ‘Battle of London’ is hoped to capture the imagination of supporters following the fallout of plans to join a European Super League.

Talks between Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea are still thought to be at an early stage, but there is a growing sense of confidence that the plans will be given the green light and could even be held in front of an almost sell-out crowd after coronavirus restrictions are lifted.
If sanctioned, the three-way tournament would be expected to start between the Euro 2020 final on July 14 and the start of the new Premier League season on August 14, and the return of fans is considered to be a good opportunity to test the return of large crowds.
