'Love it': Micky Hazard says he's heard Antonio Conte say something 'brilliant' at Tottenham recently
The Italian has got off to a decent start in the Premier League this season after getting his side back into the Champions League last campaign.
Conte’s men thrashed Southampton 4-1 on the opening day and grabbed a point at Stamford Bridge on Sunday in a thrilling 2-2 draw.
And a club legend in Micky Hazard is excited about what Conte has been saying at Spurs.
Hazard heard Conte say something ‘brilliant’
Hazard says Conte’s aim is to win the Premier League with Tottenham, rather than just qualify for the Champions League each year.
The legend feels that the Italian is the right man for the job and will bring trophies to North London.
Of course, it’s been a long time since the club won a trophy and Spurs fans are desperate to see their side win silverware.
Tottenham’s last trophy came way back in 2008 after a 2-1 win over Chelsea in the League Cup final.
The North London side have come very close on several occasions under former boss Mauricio Pochettino but have never quite got over the line.
The Argentine narrowly missed out the Premier League title twice and fell to defeat against Liverpool in the Champions League final in 2019.
Spurs fans will hope that a serial winning manager like Conte can turn the club’s fortunes around.
The Italian has certainly made an impressive start to his reign at Spurs and is being backed by the board in the transfer market.
Conte has won titles in England and Italy so if there’s a manager who is capable of bringing silverware to Tottenham, it’s him.
There’s clearly a lot of excitement surrounding Spurs at the moment and that’s down to what Conte is building at the club.
