Aston Villa defender Frederic Guilbert has been interacting with fans on Instagram. Aston Villa fans have been asking him questions and he has been providing answers.

The French defender is joining Aston Villa this summer. He agreed to join in January but was loaned back to SM Caen for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign.

In Guilbert’s absence, Aston Villa earned promotion to the top-flight. Guilbert will now be playing Premier League football when he moves to the West Midlands. He will provide depth at right-back and centre-back.

Guilbert was asked about this on Instagram: “Why Aston Villa?”. His response: “Championship or Premier League it’s the same for me. Aston Villa it’s a big club”.

The 24-year-old was also asked about his squad number. He replied that he did not know yet but 21 or 24 were his preferred options. Both 21 and 24 have been vacated since last season. The ’21’ jersey was worn by fan favourite Alan Hutton, while Tommy Elphick donned the ’24’.
