Ismaila Sarr is reportedly interested in joining Liverpool – and some Watford fans on Twitter have reacted negatively to the thought of selling him.

90min reports that Liverpool are keen on trying to sign Sarr from Watford, who are preparing for life back in the Premier League after promotion.

It is explained that Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are willing to pay up to £40million to try secure his signature. But, it’s unclear on if Watford will sell.

The report adds the 23-year-old has informed his club he would like to leave Vicarage Road to join Liverpool.

Sarr joined Watford for £30million back in 2019, enduring both a relegation and promotion during a turbulent two years. 

The blistering right-winger has express pace and technical ability, so is a major fan favourite.

He’s scored 19 goals and made 16 assists in 70 appearances for the Hornets.

Watford to Liverpool would be steep jump for Sarr

Sarr has been the talisman for large spells of his Watford career, but it would be a totally different environment on Merseyside.

The dazzling wide man is a big fish in a small pond at his current club, so it would be intriguing to see him surrounded by better players.

Aged 23, it wouldn’t be the worst move to stay another year where he is to play regularly for a Premier League side.

However, interest from Liverpool is not something to be taken lightly.

It’s quite telling that some Watford supporters on social media are desperate for their Senegal International to stay put.
