'Love him already': Some Arsenal fans adore what Ramsdale did after Aubameyang scored his first goal last night
Arsenal fans absolutely loved the way that Aaron Ramsdale reacted after Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scored the first goal of the night yesterday.
Arsenal ran out 6-0 winners against West Bromwich Albion last night, with Ramsdale impressing on debut.
The Gunners new boy was not called into action too often, but when he was – Ramsdale was always commanding in what he did.
There were some question marks over the fee that Arsenal paid for the 23-year-old.
However, his passion is clearly winning Gunners supporters over – and he was given a rapturous reception by the travelling support at full-time.
Ramsdale also earned praise of those on social media, after a picture emerged of him celebrating their first goal.
Ramsdale looked genuinely chuffed for Aubameyang, as he punched the air in delight.
And Arsenal fans loved seeing their new signing quickly showing such desire to see his side win.
Real competition now
Ramsdale’s strong performance will already edge him closer to Arsenal’s first-team.
While he is unlikely to take over the number one shirt from Bernd Leno yet, his latest display certainly won’t have done his chances any harm.
And if the German is to let his standards slip, there is now real competition for a place between the sticks at the Emirates Stadium.
