A number of Liverpool fans have been discussing Jamal Lewis following his display today and have urged the Reds to consider making a move for the Norwich left-back.
The 22-year-old came through the ranks at Norwich and has made 94 competitive appearances for the Canaries in all competitions, including 23 in the Premier League.
Last season, Lewis was just one of many standout players who helped Daniel Farke’s side win the Championship amid strong competition from Sheffield United and Leeds United.
This term, while it has been harder for the whole team, the Northern Ireland international has continued to put in decent displays which suggest he’d make the cut at a stronger club.
Lewis had a fairly mixed game against Brighton, it has to be said, often playing a bit too high up the pitch, which the opposition was happy to exploit, and was also booked in the first half.
However, he improved after the break and weighed in with several dangerous crosses, though in the end it was to no avail as the Seagulls ran out 1-0 winners.
Norwich now sit seven points adrift of safety, with 17th-placed Watford also boasting a game in hand – relegation for Farke and co now seems a foregone conclusion.
With so much talent in their ranks, this summer could well see their squad picked apart, and quite a few Liverpool fans like the look of the £5,000-a-week ace.
Here is what some Liverpool fans said about Lewis on social media:
With all the money being spoken about for players who aren’t going to walk straight into an LFC first team. Players like Jamal Lewis and Emilio Buendia should be being spoken about for us. Rate the other fullback too but not as much as Trent and Neco lol

I’d be happy with Thiago, Willian and Lewis to be honest #LFC

Wonder if Klopp fancies Jamal Lewis for cover at LB? #LFC

Winger (Leon Bailey?), LB (Jamal Lewis?) and a CB (Ben White?) would be good, assuming Shaqiri, Lovren and some on loan (Grujic) depart, some could be used in deals (Origi/Wilson) but all trust in Klopp and co. obviously – Thiago very interesting but fear at Gini’s expense #LFC

Rather than Thiago, why not buy a backup left-back for Robertson? Currently, we’re relying on an aged James Milner (who’s not good at LB).
Jamal Lewis from Norwich if they get relegated is a good bet. Or maybe Firpo from Barcelona who’s struggling in Spain! #Liverpool
