'Better than Fonseca', 'Class manager': Some Tottenham fans react as club set sights on a former Real Madrid man
Some Tottenham fans were reacting after links with Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui.
According to Estadio Deportivo, the Lilywhites have their sights on the 54-year-old.
Lopetegui has enjoyed a career ‘rebirth’ following a manic period just a few years ago.
He was sacked as Spain’s manager just prior to the 2018 World Cup and was appointed Real Madrid head coach. However, he last just four months as he was sacked by Los Blancos.
He joined Sevilla in the summer of 2019 and has been incredibly successful. He’s led the Andalusian outfit to consecutive top-four finishes and the Europa League title.
TBR View: Lopetegui would be a better appointment than Fonseca as Tottenham manager
Links with Paulo Fonseca has been a very worrying sight for Tottenham.
The Italian has struggled massively with AS Roma and proves a weak option for the club.
However, Lopetegui would be a great choice to be the next Tottenham manager after links from Spain.
The Spaniard has taken the La Liga outfit from top-four outsiders to Champions League regulars under his stewardship.
His recent success with Sevilla coupled with his style of play would suit the north London giants down to the ground.
Here is how fans reacted to the report…
Lopetegui is the one we should be going for not the portuguese version of roberto martinez , offer him triple what he is on at sevilla , show some ambition for once— Spursline (@spursline) June 10, 2021
Lopetegui or Ten Hag would be great managers! Done it on every stage. Fonsecca isn’t experienced enough & is defensively average which will cost us in big/key games.— Tunde (@Tunde06519957) June 10, 2021
class manager!— Lewis Manners (@llewi01) June 10, 2021
Sevilla manager. Won Europa league last year. Better than Fonseca. Levy stop wasting our time.— manu (@Manu23588) June 10, 2021
