Everton winger Ademola Lookman has been linked with an exit this window. And according to Goal.com, Southampton are keen on Lookman.
New Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl wants to reunite with Lookman after the pair spent a year together at Red Bull Leipzig.
At the start of this month, that might have been feasible as Lookman was little more than an impact substitute at Goodison Park.
But since the turn of the year, the former Charlton Athletic starlet has caught the eye. Firstly, he scored against Lincoln City in the FA Cup and that earned him a start in the league.
Lookman did not disappoint; he produced an impressive display against Bournemouth to inspire Everton to a 2-0 win.
The 21-year-old had the most successful dribbles (four) and was fouled the most times (three), according to Who Scored, as well as providing an assist for the second goal.
The lively winger was a constant threat all game and Marco Silva should be desperate to keep him.
But this weekend, Everton travel down to the south coast to take on Hasenhuttl’s Southampton. And the Austrian will be keeping a close eye on Lookman.
But if the England under-21 can replicate his Bournemouth display and produce another masterclass on the wing, then surely this ends Southampton’s chase.
Everton and Silva will be desperate to keep Lookman if he can keep his form up.
