A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have been praising Leon King for his Scottish Cup display at Ibrox last night.

The Gers cruised into the fourth round of the competition by running out 4-0 winners over Stirling at Ibrox.

Rangers debutant Alex Lowry came on in the 15th minute and marked the occasion with a goal.

The 18-year-old, who replaced the injured Ianis Hagi, slotted home in the 31st minute.

James Tavernier then made it 2-0 six minutes later, the Rangers captain converting from the penalty spot.

The Gers then got another penalty moments after the restart, but Blair Currie saved Tavernier’s second spot-kick.

Rangers made it 3-0 just before the hour mark as Cedric Itten turned Adam Cummins and slotted home.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst brought King on for Leon Balogun in the 60th minute.

The 18-year-old gave a great account of himself, dealing comfortably with all attacks that came his way.

Fashion Sakala then made it 4-0 late on, nipping ahead of the Stirling centre-backs and rifling home.

While the spotlight rightly shone on Lowry for his dream debut, King also came in for praise.
