Tottenham Hotspur’s signing of Gareth Bale on loan has been described as an “amazing” deal by BBC Sport pundit Micah Richards.
The 31-year-old, who left Tottenham for Real Madrid in 2013 in what was then a world record deal, rejoined Spurs on a season-long deal in mid-September.
Prior to Bale’s arrival, Football London reported that Spurs would be paying 40 percent of the player’s wages and Real picking up the remaining 60 percent.

In addition, Tottenham are reported to have an option to extend the Welshman’s loan deal by another year.
The deal saw the media spotlight shine firmly on the white half of North London and, although Bale is still working his way back to full fitness, Richards can’t wait to see him back in action.
“I know we have not seen him in action yet but I still think the Gareth Bale deal is amazing,” the former England defender told BBC Sport (5/10, 18:41).
“We all know what he can do – he’s won four Champions Leagues, he lit up the Premier League last time he was here and everyone is just excited to see him.
“I’m just glad I don’t have to face him again as he twisted me up on more than a few occasions!
“Even if he is just 75 percent of the player he was, defenders – look out for Gareth Bale.”
TBR View:
Tottenham have had a very good window, strengthening their ranks all across the board, from Joe Hart in goal to Carlos Vinicius up front.
As far as marquee signings go, however, Bale to Spurs is right up there – the one-time most expensive player in the world and serial winner with one of the planet’s most famous teams, returning to club where he became a star.
And best of all, Tottenham have been in fine goalscoring form these last few weeks, so the prospect of adding Bale to a line-up featuring Harry Kane and Son heung-min is exciting to say the least.
