It might surprise a few Arsenal fans to find out that Declan Rice was discussing Tottenham Hotspur shortly after a seismic win last night.
Alongside Jorginho in midfield, Rice was absolutely immense with his pressing and progression of the ball, something we now all come to expect.

Mikel Arteta’s tactical plan worked brilliantly, he set his team up to win and individual performances justified the intelligence of their manager.
Not only does the win do a lot for Arsenal in terms of the league table, but it will also do so much for the side’s confidence.
Failing to overcome Liverpool in the FA Cup when playing so well at times was a huge blow, but last night could mark the turning of a corner.
That being said, Declan Rice was keeping his feet on the ground after the game, he wasn’t getting carried away.
And when speaking to beIN Sports shortly after Arsenal’s win, Rice did actually point to Tottenham’s form as a reason to stay humble.
The reporter asked Rice if Arsenal were now in title contention again, but the midfielder stayed diplomatic on the situation, pedaling his manager’s message.
Declan Rice pays compliment to Tottenham shortly after Arsenal win
Discussing the title race, Rice suggested both Aston Villa and Spurs will still play a significant role.
He said: “Look, I think you have to take it one game at a time. This league is so volatile.

“It’s up and down and up and down all the time. You can move positions. Aston Villa are playing very well. Spurs are playing very well.
“There’s some really, really good teams in the league this year. It’s one game at a time.”
And whilst Arsenal fans may not enjoy hearing Rice deliver Tottenham a compliment, they’ll probably agree with the sentiments of his words.
The title race is still wide open, even if Manchester City always hold a slight advantage.
Perhaps Arsenal will be hoping Ivan Toney can do them a favour tonight – ahead of possibly joining the side in the summer.
But either way, Rice and his teammates will be delighted with the win yesterday evening.
And Gary Neville was impressed with one performance in particular when watching the game.
