Lokonga names the Arsenal teammate he’s most excited to play alongside

Albert Sambi Lokonga has said that Arsenal teammate Nicolas Pepe is the player he’s most looking forward to lining up alongside at the Emirates Stadium.

Lokonga, 21, has made the move this summer from Anderlecht to north London. 

He’s a highly rated Belgian central midfielder that is going to provide Gunners boss Mikel Arteta with a great option in the centre of the park.

Lokonga, as quoted by Arsenal’s official website, said Pepe is the individual he’s excited to playing with. Also, he’s given a mention to the trio of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Bukayo Saka.

It was a dreadful season last year for Arsenal on reflection, but there is some room for optimism.

It’s clear Arteta is trying to build something, so plenty of fans are sticking with him.

Lokonga, who looks exciting on paper, is linking up with an Arsenal squad that has plenty of talent. In particular, they have some serious ammunition going forward.

Pepe, 26, is somewhat a surprise pick as the star Lokonga can’t wait to play with. However, it shows big respect from his peers. 

The right-winger struck 16 goals in 47 appearances during the last campaign, so many feel the best is yet to come from him.
