Loftus-Cheek and Solanke would be an exciting double loan signing for Wolves
Crystal Palace are trying to bring in two of the country’s hottest young prospects to aid their survival bid.
According to The London Evening Standard, Roy Hodgson wants to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Dominic Solanke this January.
Loftus-Cheek spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace and they hope to bring him back with Chelsea game time looking limited.
And the Eagles believe that signing Loftus-Cheek would boost their chances of landing Solanke on loan from Liverpool.
The pair played together at Chelsea as academy players and have represented England’s youth sides together.
But this is an idea that Wolverhampton Wanderers should be looking to hijack.
With a new striker and a ball-carrying midfielder potentially on Nuno’s January wishlist, Loftus-Cheek and Solanke could be the perfect short-term fixes.
Loftus-Cheek is exceptionally talented, demonstrating speed, athleticism, strength and ball-carrying ability.
The 22-year-old, who has 10 caps for England, has had 10 successful dribbles, completed 129 passes and scored three goals in just 146 minutes of Premier League football this season, according to Who Scored.
In five Europa League games, that tally becomes 18 dribbles, 258 passes and three goals.
Solanke, on the other hand, would be a much-needed goal scoring striker to ease the burden on Raul Jimenez.
The 21-year-old has not played for Liverpool’s first-team this season but is prolific at youth level for club and country.
