Loan swoop for Silva would give Wolves a cheaper alternative to Diawara

Leicester City midfielder Adrien Silva wants to leave the club on loan before the transfer deadline passes, according to the Guardian.

They report that the 29-year-old has become frustrated with his lack of gametime at the King Power Stadium so far this season and wants a fresh start before the window slams shut late on Thursday night.

Foxes manager Claude Puel reportedly does not actively want to offload Silva but will also not stand in his way and already apparently has his eye on a replacement in the shape of Monaco starlet Youri Tielemans.

It is not clear which clubs have an eye on Silva, but Wolves are reportedly keen to boost their central midfield ranks with a bid for Napoli’s Amadou Diawara.

With an ever-growing Portuguese contingent, Wolves would be an ideal destination for Silva, and his situation presents an opportunity for Nuno Santo to secure a player who moved for a reported £22m back in 2017 at a knockdown price – or on loan.

Silva is in a similar mould to Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho and if Santo wants more cover for his deep-lying playmakers, he would be an ideal, experienced option.

His Foxes career has never really recovered from the false start created by his paperwork not going through on time and Silva is sure to have a point to prove in English football – and Wolves would hand him a home away from home.
