Leeds United loanee Conor Shaughnessy has been praised for his form at current club Mansfield Town.
This summer saw the Irish utility player told he was surplus to requirements at Elland Road and he eventually joined Mansfield on loan for the season back in August.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Mansfield boss John Dempster has praised the performances of the 23-year-old since his arrival at Field Mill.
“Conor is a good footballer and a calm, composed character.
“He is someone who has performed well for us in defence and in midfield…He is a good, young player and someone we did well to get into the building as he had certainly added to our squad.
“I believe there is more to come. Conor has not had loads of football this season after his spell in Scotland last season. So I expect him to go from strength to strength.”
Shaugnessy has certainly impressed Stags fans since his arrival and his ability to play in a number of different positions has also proved to be a huge bonus for the League Two side.
At the weekend, he played in a back three as Mansfield crushed Oldham Athletic 6-1 in his eighth appearance for his loan side.

TBR’s View
It is great to hear that Shaughnessy is doing well at his loan spell away from Leeds, but it still feels unlikely to be the start of an Elland Road renaissance.
Despite initially appearing to be a part of Marcelo Bielsa’s plans, injury trouble sidetracked the Irish under-21 international and Leeds have simply outgrown him in the months since.
But hopefully, he can continue his fine form with his loan club this season. If so, Leeds should have no problem finding a buyer in the summer.
