Leeds United icon Jermaine Beckford has praised Raphinha’s display in Saturday’s Premier League win over Watford.

The Whites finally got their first victory of the league campaign after three draws and three defeats.

Diego Llorente’s goal in the 18th minute proved the difference between the two sides.

The Spaniard, back from a hamstring injury he picked up against Liverpool, poked home from close range after a scramble from a corner kick.

Leeds could’ve even won by multiple goals, mustering a staggering 20 chances, though only four were on target.

And Watford did have the ball in the back of the net at one point when Illan Meslier dropped the ball and it deflected in off Christian Kabasele.

However, it was ruled out due to a foul in the build-up.

Leeds have a “livewire” in their ranks

Once again, Raphinha dazzled for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, taking on opposition players with little effort and constantly trying to find Rodrigo with long-range passes.

Beckford, speaking on BBC Final Score, was impressed with the Brazilian’s latest heroics.

“Raphinha has been excellent,” Beckford said (16:08). “Every time he picks the ball up he looks like a livewire.”

Leeds fans were also delighted with the 24-year-old’s efforts:

After the international break, Leeds are next in action on Saturday 16 October, with a trip to Southampton.
