Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino can end mini drought against Manchester City

Liverpool host Manchester City on Sunday in a huge fixture, as the two favourites for the Premier League title clash at Anfield.

Both are unbeaten in the league after the opening seven round of games and will be looking to send out a statement this weekend before the international break.

But Jurgen Klopp’s side do go into the contest on the back of a defeat to Napoli in the Champions League, while they were also beaten by Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

Liverpool centre-forward Roberto Firmino is a player going through a mini drought based on his high standards, as he’s failed to score or assist in his last four games.

The Brazilian attacker is usually brilliant at holding the ball up and linking play with his teammates, while has also proven he is clinical in front of goal.

He could be someone to watch going into Sunday, as stats prove that he loves playing against Man City.

Firmino has played nine times against them during his time with Liverpool and bene directly involved in 10 goals (four goals + six assists).

It’s set to be a fiery encounter at Anfield between two attacking teams, which is why it would be no surprise to see Firmino play a key role despite his form.
