Rarely seen Liverpool midfielder Allan has admitted he really wants to stay at Fluminense and hopes something can be worked out.

The Brazilian has just completed a good loan spell back in his homeland, and is now heading back to Melwood to sort out his future.

The 22-year-old signed for the Reds back in 2015, but has never played for the first-team as he has been unable to obtain a work permit.

Following this frustration and his successful period at Fluminense, it would appear Allan is ready to move on.

He told Canal Flu News: “I really want to stay. In fact, today I’m traveling to England to solve the process and we will see what will happen. I hope it works out.”

Unfortunately for the South American, stricter rules over work permits these days mean there’s very little chance he’d ever be seen in the red of Liverpool.

TBR’s view – A chance for a small profit

Liverpool could make a small profit on Allan following their initial £500,000 investment (Liverpool Echo).

It is thought Fluminense saw enough in the player to want to sign him permanently, and Flamengo are also supposedly interested.

That’s good news for the Reds, who can perhaps play the two rivals off of one another.

It is a shame the work permit rules are as they are and that Allan won’t have chance to feature for the first-team, especially after Jurgen Klopp once branded him ‘an outstanding talent’ (Liverpool Echo),
