Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson’s exciting start at Bournemouth has been validated after he scooped the club’s first Player of the Month award.
The winger has already hit two goals for the Cherries, with one coming on the opening day against Aston Villa and the other a brilliant free-kick against Premier League champions Manchester City.
The 22-year-old received 55% of the vote from fans in a Twitter poll, beating out Philip Billing (25%), Aaron Ramsdale (16%) and Adam Smith (4%).
It is the ideal start for Wilson at the Vitality Stadium, with the Wales international looking to impress in the Premier League after an impressive stint at Derby County last term.
The youngster will be hoping to keep his form going in a bid to get Jurgen Klopp to consider him for the Reds’ first-team next term.
Wilson has a lot of work to do to convince the German he can do a job for Liverpool, but he has made the best start he could have hoped for.
He is in capable hands with Eddie Howe and Bournemouth’s attacking style, and working with the likes of Callum Wilson, Josh King and Ryan Fraser will certainly help him to showcase his talents.
There’s a long way to go, but if he is able to pick up a few more of these awards then Klopp may have no option but to finally throw him into his squad next year.
