Liverpool are looking into a deal for Joaquin Correa. CittaCeleste is suggesting that the Lazio forward has caught the eye this season with his performances in Rome and that Liverpool are considering him as a potential attacking option.
Correa currently carries an €80 million (£70m) release clause. However, Liverpool are hopeful of signing him for a fee in the region of €60 million (£52m).
They plan on getting Lazio to agree to such a reduction by removing their current sell-on clause they can still claim on Luis Alberto.
It would be a brilliant piece of business from Liverpool for a player whose name will be familiar to Anfield fans.

Liverpool took on Correa’s former club Sevilla in the Champions League back in September 2017. It was the Reds first game in the competition since 2014 and a repeat of the 2016 Europa League final.
Liverpool appeared to be on their way to a hard-fought win, before Correa spoiled the part, scoring a 72nd-minute equaliser.
Speaking after the game (as reported by The Express), the Argentine revelled in his joy at the result. The 6ft 2ins star even turned the Liverpool club motto against the Anfield fanbase, suggesting the same ethos secured Sevilla’s point on the night.
“This is a really good point. We had to overturn the form of the game to get it.
“Liverpool are full of quality, extremely fast and we had to get accustomed to that. My goal was just what we needed. Luis [Muriel] nearly had the winner in added time there and that would have been great.
“They say, here, that you never walk alone and our traveling fans ensured that was the case for us too.”
Correa left Sevilla for Lazio in 2018 and has since gone on to establish himself as one of Serie A’s more dynamic threats in attack, helping Lazio to a title challenge this season.
If Liverpool can get their reported way in the transfer market, Correa might be looking to invoke the ‘Never Walk Alone’ spirit at Anfield once again, but this time in Liverpool red.
