Liverpool will consider selling promising midfielder Herbie Kane in the forthcoming January transfer window, according to a report by Goal.
They report that a loan departure from Anfield is likeliest for Kane next month but the Reds would consider selling the man who made his first start in the 5-0 loss against Aston Villa yesterday.
Championship outfits Hull City and Charlton Athletic are named as two potential suitors, and other second tier clubs are apparently interested too.
Highly-rated prospects Rhian Brewster and Curtis Jones are apparently in line for loan moves next month to get greater gametime, but it remains to be seen whether Kane also remains on the Reds’ books beyond the window.
TBR’s View – Kane has real talent but breaking into Liverpool’s midfield is so tough these days
It would be surprising if Liverpool did sell Kane next month – he has a lot of ability and a growing reputation – but they have a huge amount of quality in midfield.
A period in the Championship would take him onto that next level in terms of experience and it could give him the springboard to push on at Anfield.
But if they choose to cash in on Kane, they still have the quality at the club to blood a new generation of talent in the engine room.
