Liverpool ‘would like to present a proposal’ of around £25m to sign Serie A star

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool ‘would like to present a proposal’ of around £25million to Torino to sign Gleison Bremer, according to reports.

The Serie A side have conceded 30 goals from 31 league games this season and the 25-year-old Brazilian has had a huge part to play in that.

Bremer’s impressive performances saw him rewarded with a new contract in February, but that hasn’t stopped the centre-back being linked with a big-money summer move.

According to O Tempo, the defender ‘interests’ the Merseyside club and Inter Milan, as these are the two clubs that ‘want to sign Bremer’ in the summer.

And Tutto Juve claim Klopp’s side want to submit a bid of around £30million euros to Torino, to try and beat competition from Italian clubs.

Given that the German already has Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konaté and Joe Gomez, it would be a surprise to see Klopp sign another centre-back in the summer.

However, Bremer is posting some impressive numbers this season which may have convinced the former Borussia Dortmund manager that he wants the South American at Anfield.

Across Europe’s top five leagues, no player averages more interceptions per game than Bremer (3.4), according to WhoScored.

With Klopp’s famed high-octane and heavy metal approach, Bremer’s ability to read the game and win turnovers could make him an appealing proposition for the Merseysiders.

Bremer also averages 1.4 tackles and 3.9 clearances per game.

As it stands, Bremer is currently included in WhoScored’s team of the year across the top five leagues alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah.

From 29 appearances this season, Bremer has three goals to his name.

He is yet to be capped for the senior Brazil national team, but with the winter World Cup in Qatar on the horizon, a summer move to a big club like Liverpool may be needed for Bremer to force his way into Tite’s Selecao squad.
