Football journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Liverpool would be willing to break their transfer record to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham next year.

The Reds have long been linked with a move to sign the 19-year-old, who has been absolutely amazing for the German giants since he joined them from Birmingham City in 2020.

Liverpool have long been linked with a move to sign Bellingham.

The teenager is arguably the best young midfielder in the world, and it’s only a matter of time before he gets his big move away from Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool have been branded as the most likely club to sign Bellingham, and Jones has now revealed that Jurgen Klopp’s side would be willing to break their transfer record to get him.

The journalist told GiveMeSport: “I think they would be willing to break their transfer record to sign Bellingham.

“That would only mean getting to about £80 million, so it’s probably going to happen soon anyway given the way prices are.”

Bellingham, branded as an ‘exceptional’ player, is already a superstar, and he has the potential to become a truly elite midfielder in just a few years’ time. To achieve that, he will probably have to leave Dortmund, and everybody expects him to do that at some point next year.

Liverpool have had a really poor start to the season. The Reds are currently eighth in the league table, nine points behind league leaders Arsenal, and many feel their midfield is the reason behind their underwhelming start.

Arthur Melo was brought in on loan on transfer deadline day, but it really does seem like he’s a short-term option and will go back to Juventus either in January or next year.

That opens the door for a big addition in the middle of the park, and if reports are to be believed, Liverpool will go all out to sign Bellingham.
