Squawka report that Liverpool have been put on alert after Dinamo Zagreb have declared that they will be prepared to accept bids worth £15 million for 19-year-old sensation Ante Coric. The attacking midfielder is also wanted by Tottenham, but it appears that Manchester City’s interest has now cooled.
The playmaker is tipped for greatness and has already got two international caps to his name and has featured in almost every game for Dinamo Zagreb in their league campaign, also playing a prominent role in their Champions League fixtures to date, showing he already has experience at the highest level despite his young age.
Sadio Mane has been nominated for the African Player of the Year award, as part of a five man shortlist which also includes Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, Mohamed Salah from Roma, and Leicester City duo Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani, meaning he is a top contender for the award.
The news comes after the 24-year-old Senegal star was nominated for the BBC’s African Footballer of the Year award earlier this month and marks a remarkable year as he shot to fame with Southampton before completing a move to Liverpool in the summer where he has continued his fine form.
One man whose Anfield move has been less successful is goalkeeper Adam Bogdan, whose loan spell at Wigan will be cut short after he tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in the Latic’s match against Barnsley on Saturday. The 29-year-old will now return to Merseyside for rehabilitation, say the Liverpool Echo.
Jurgen Klopp has already told the Hungarian that his Anfield career is over, despite only signing on a free transfer from Bolton in the summer of 2015, and will hope to recover to look for a new club in the summer.
