Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has spoken of his happiness at being at Anfield, and praised the Reds faithful as the best in the world.
Mane has been in amazing form for the club pretty much ever since he arrived on the scene three years ago after completing a £34 million move from Southampton (BBC Sport).
The Senegal international has developed into a world-class player on Merseyside under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp and last season, of course, he tasted his first piece of silverware in the form of the coveted Champions League trophy.
That was swiftly followed by the UEFA Super Cup, and Mane is eyeing more in the not too distant future.
He told Complex: “Winning it and seeing how much it meant has given us all more motivation this season to perform, and win more trophies for this club.”
Some fans might have been worried about the player potentially being frustrated after the recent Mo Salah incident at Burnley, but Mane has provided reassurance.
“We have the best fans in the world here, so I’m always so thankful for the support,” he added. “It’s not just great for me too – it gives the whole squad more motivation to perform.
“It keeps us hungry to get better and better together… I really struggle to describe how happy I am to be here!”
Liverpool fans will be delighted to hear Mane speaking so positively.
It is vital that the 27-year-old remains at Anfield if Liverpool are to continue competing for trophies.
Last season’s Premier League Golden Boot joint-winner is playing his best football ever, and can arguably still get even better.
