Liverpool have a whole host of impressive young talents in the ranks and according to James Pearce from The Athletic, the club will allow Elijah Dixon-Bonner to leave on loan in January.

Answering a host of fan-led questions for The Athletic, Pearce has claimed that he fully expects to see Dixon-Bonner given the chance of a loan move. It comes after the 20-year-old has already made an impression this season on Jurgen Klopp. The Liverpool boss has moved the youngster into first-team training, and even selected him in the Champions League squad to face Atletico Madrid in October.

The versatile midfielder, though, is now looking for more first-team experience, according to Pearce. He claims that Liverpool will sanction a loan move. However, there is no suggestion of where too just yet. A switch to the Championship, though, would appear to make sense.

Dixon-Bonner has progressed through the youth ranks at Anfield. He is highly thought of, with the club keen to take his development to the next stage.

The 20-year-old will be buoyed by recent youth inclusions at first-team level. The likes of Harvey Elliott have progressed, while both Tyler Morton and Kaide Gordon have played recently.

TBR’s View: Championship Clubs To Scramble For Dixon-Bonner

With a January market that is looking drier than your Christmas turkey, if Dixon-Bonner becomes available, then there’s going to be clubs queuing up to take him. It’s just typical supply and demand.

Of course, he’ll need to go to the right club. Playing time will be key, so it might be that he ends up with a lower half team getting frequent minutes, rather than a club at the top of the pile.

However, there is little doubt about Dixon-Bonner’s talent from a Liverpool perspective. They know how good he is, and will want to ensure this next move is the right one.
